Thanks to WineSong! 2009 the Emergency Department at Mendocino Coast District Hospital has a new piece of equipment that will result in faster diagnosis, better decision making by ER doctors and better patient care. The new piece of equipment is a portable ultrasound machine that gives ER physicians a quick and accurate "snapshot" of the heart and other major organs in our patient's bodies. Without WineSong! we would never have been able to afford this new important equipment. Before we received it, the only way that our ER patients could receive this service was if we called an Ultrasound Technician into the ER. If the need occurred at night or on the weekend, there would be additional time required and additional personnel called in. The beauty of the new portable ultrasound is that it is fast and easy.
