Yesterday Mendocino Coast District Hospital (MCDH) held its monthly Finance Committee meeting. The news was encouraging, in comparison to the financial report from the previous month (September). In October MCDH completed the month with a positive gain from operations of $24,856. When non-operating revenues are added in, the total positive bottom line for the month was $109,042. This compares very favorably to last month's operating loss of $260,000. This month we benefited from Non-patient (other operating) revenues of $197,447. This is a difficult time of year for our hospital due to a traditional autumn slump in patient activity and corresponding low revenues. Despite the low revenue during the period, our staff is continuing to work hard for our patients and they are working efficiency too. Thank you to all members of the MCDH staff.
