It's difficult to estimate how many people attended yesterday's First Annual Mendocino Coast Health and Wellness Fair. However, by eyeballing the crowd it is apparent that at least 200 people attended this event which is planned to be the first of many to come. 80 persons took advantage of the flu shots that were being provided at the low cost of $12 each. Each of the testing stations, including blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and audiology had similar reports. But there was much, much more to see and to do as well. The MCDH ambulance was in attendance, as was the Reach Helicopter (pictured above). Education was available on local health and wellness services. Horse drawn carriage rides and a bounce house were popular for the kids. And there was great healthy food too. Whatever the number was yesterday, I expect many more next year when we do this event again. I am sure that word of mouth around town and on the coast are going to get around that this is another great Mendocino Coast event and tradition!
